In Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005), Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie star as ordinary suburban couple John and Jane Smith with a big secret — they are both highly-trained assassins working against each other for rival organizations and neither of them know it.

In this scene, John and Jane begin the night dancing the tango, but things quickly go awry when John nearly gets killed in an explosion. This action-packed scene was filmed in the swanky Cicada Restaurant and Club located in the Art Deco Oviatt Building built in 1928. The exact address is 617 South Olive Street, Los Angeles, CA.

According to Wikipedia, the building is named after James Zera Oviatt who, in 1909, came to LA to work as a window dresser at C.C. Desmond’s Department Store. The Oviatt Building was designed by architectural firm of Walker & Eisen. Shortly after, construction began in August 1927; the building was completed in May 1928. In 1983, the Oviatt Building was listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
